The Major General's attention having been recently directed to the necessity of erecting a permanent Hospital for the Troops stationed at Hongkong, it has become necessary to fix upon a site for that purpose, and the Medical and other superior Officers named in the Margin, who were employed in taking the whole subject into consideration having given decided preference for a particular location, such as is not to be found within the Cantonment I have now the honor by the Major General's desire to request that you would submit to His Excellency
